Dilli’s research focuses on the economic history of institutions, aiming to explain the diversity in and implications for societies’ wellbeing of gender inequalities in the 20th century. She created an open-access Historical Gender Equality Index which was covered by global initiatives and collaborates with leading societal partners such as the OECD. She received several grants from Utrecht University, a fellowship from the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies, and, recently, a prestigious VENI grant. She coordinates the platform for bottom-up initiatives for social change at Utrecht University, aiming to strengthen collaboration between 4 faculties and 50+ scholars.
