Dr. Vincent Buskens
Professor of Theoretical Sociology
Utrecht University
Buskens’ research is focused on the impact of social networks on cooperation, and tries to explain what makes that one network is more suitable in facilitating cooperation than the other. Buskens has an excellent international standing, as evidenced by his many international collaborations (including in the context of EU-funded projects), his many visiting professorships (e.g., Oxford, Hong Kong), and his positions as secretary of the European Academy of Sociology and past chair of the Section Rationality of the American Sociological Association. He has ample expertise and experience in setting up large-scale surveys and experimental data collections.
