About John

I am an assistant professor in history at Utrecht University. I hold a PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in economics from Northwestern University. My research interests cover economic history, international trade, and applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on the Japanese economy in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
