About Floor

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at Utrecht University, working on the SOCION project Collective Action, Cohesion and Inequality (Project 5.2). Before joining the SOCION PhD programme, I obtained a Research Master’s degree in Sociology and Social Research and a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science, both from Utrecht University. My research interests include the topics collective action, socioeconomic status (SES), and climate change. For my master’s thesis, I collected online experimental survey data to investigate the effectiveness of a dynamic social norm intervention for reducing meat consumption, and whether its effectiveness varied by income and education level. As a research intern (at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development) during my master’s programme, I explored food practices and suitable plant-based food-swap alternatives among low-SES groups in the Netherlands through 17 semi-structured interviews and dietary assessments.
