An interdisciplinary thinker/tinkerer at core, I have worked as a freelance artist as well as a strategist in a communication agency targeted at social movements and organizational cultural changes. Here at SOCION I explore the possibilities of humour in bringing people together across cultural and political boundaries through my PhD project at University of Groningen, under supervision of Namkje Koudenburg, Hedy Greijdanus and Lisa Bastian. In this project we integrate philosophical and social psychological frameworks to develop practical guidelines of using humour in various social settings, from citizen panels to cross-cultural workshops. At a time of increasing social division and tension, I hope to contribute to cohesion in our society, all in good humour!
