About Frank

I am Professor of Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy at the University of Groningen, where I am also a fellow of the Centre of Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I am a founding editor of the Journal of Social Ontology (JSO) and a founding member of the International Social Ontology Society (ISOS).

My research interests include intentional action, moral rationalisation, and moral responsibility; social institutions, their functions and values; as well as social groups, collective responsibility, and structural injustice. I have almost completed a book entitled The Structure of the Open Society, which addresses many of these themes.
