I am an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at Utrecht University. My research focuses on inequality, social cohesion, and the dynamics of social networks. I apply these themes to data on adolescents and their networks, interactions on social media and digital networks, teacher discrimination in schools, and peer networks in educational settings. In 2022, I received a grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG) to investigate how peer network dynamics shape educational inequality. I obtained my PhD in social sciences (summa cum laude) in 2017 from the University of Bamberg, Germany.
