I study young adult life courses, singlehood, and intergenerational support. I work with longitudinal register and panel data, applying advanced quantitative methods. In 2023, I received a VENI grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for a project (2024–2028) on the relation between uncertainty in young adult life courses and well-being, depending on parental support. I am also the recipient of a GAK-KNAW award for a project (2023–2026) on the role of temporary employment for young adult life courses.
I hold a PhD in Sociology (2020) from the University of Amsterdam. In my PhD research, I examined contextual and individual explanations for the timing of leaving home. Following my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Radboud University, focusing on young adult life courses, in particular singlehood in young adulthood.
