About Puck

I am a PhD Candidate at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where I will be doing my research on sharing climate responsibility across actors (governments, corporations and individuals). My interest in this topic was catalysed during the writing of my thesis for the Bachelor’s programme Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. For this thesis, I researched the ‘pie-model’ fallacy in situations of responsibility to prevent climate catastrophes from happening. After that, I graduated from the Master’s degree in Political Philosophy at Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona, where I looked into dignity as a relational concept in times of environmental collapse, and the role of storytelling to spur the emancipatory and transformative potential of environmental thinking. With art being at the heart of this emancipatory potential, I was part of the Co-Arising art collective for the Climate Change residency at Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture and DE/MO Foundation. We practiced art to tackle questions on fostering a stronger connection between people and nature, reversing decline in biodiversity and restoring ecological balance.
