About Leah

I am a professor in the Department of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. My areas of research expertise are philosophy of science and epistemology.

I have a PhD in philosophy from the Massachussetts Institute of Technology. Since 2015, I have been at the University of Groningen as a Rosalind Franklin Fellow. I currently occupy an endowed chair on the theme of ‘Societal Trust’ (Maatschappelijk Vertrouwen) from the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen) and the Rudolf Agricola School of the University of Groningen.

I started my career as a physicist. I did a DPhil in theoretical physics specialising in quantum information theory at the University of Oxford, and then worked as a post-doc in Bristol in the UK. I still have research interests in philosophy of quantum theory which grew out of this background.
